A lack of maintenance, severe weather and detailing damage are some of the causes of disruption to finished masonry. Large costs can be incurred if buildings are not maintained appropriately using specialist techniques.

Taunton, Somerset

This stone bay window required a full restoration to preserve its character and ensure its longevity. We carefully removed the non-breathable paint using a high-pressure steam before repairing and rebuilding damaged sections with traditional, compatible materials. Once all the lime mortar repairs were completed, we applied a breathable paint finish, leaving the bay window looking refreshed, protected and true to its original appearance.

Wellington, Somerset

An original stone chimney underwent extensive repairs and a partial rebuild using hydraulic lime mortar, carefully restoring it to its original condition while preserving its character and structural integrity.

Minehead, Somerset

On this project, we removed a mixture of lime and cement mortar that had been incorrectly colour matched and applied, which had caused the stone to delaminate. The defective mortar was carefully removed before we repointed the stonework using a suitable lime mortar mix, allowing the stone to breathe properly and helping to preserve and protect it for years to come.

Reclaimed Materials

Reclaimed materials are materials recovered from demolition or reclaim, providing a sustainable alternative to new materials, often with a lower environmental impact and unique character. Examples include reclaimed wood, bricks, doors, windows, tiles and other architectural elements.

Taken from old structures and repurposed in new construction or decorative purposes.
Reclaimed materials can be a sustainable alternative for construction and renovation projects, reducing waste and conserving resources.
